Performers' Biographies

Kevin Hanrahan

Tenor Kevin Hanrahan has performed nationally and internationally. He has performed with the Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, the Catalina Chamber Orchestra, the Phoenix Chorale, the AIMS Festival Orchestra, the McKeesport Symphony, the Lincoln Symphony, City of Prague Orchestra, the Chattanooga Symphony, the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra. A frequent recitalist, Dr. Hanrahan has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and India. In January of 2007 Dr. Hanrahan along with pianist Roberta Swedien performed Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin in Pune and Mumbai, India, and were the first perform Schubert’s masterpiece in over 50 years with the last performance given by Peter Pears and Benjamin Britten. Dr. Hanrahan has worked with numerous influential conductors including Robert Page, Charles Bruffy, David Stocker, Bruce Chamberlain and Gunther Schuller, as well several esteemed directors such as Elizabeth Bachman, Rhoda Levine, Gregory Lehane and Graham Whitehead. Through his collaboration with composer Diana Blom, Dr. Hanrahan has performed and recorded her songs on the album Songs of Diana Blom for Wirripang and is available for streaming on the Naxos Music Library. Dr. Hanrahan's second CD entitled New Art Songs of the Pacific Rim released early 2018 features songs by Diana Blom, Anthony Ritchie, Gwenyth Walker, and other composers from around the Pacific Rim.

Patrick McNally

Excited to be returning to bringing new works like these to life, Baritone, Patrick McNally is thrilled to get back to performing music for live audiences. Most recently this season Patrick was seen with Opera North playing the lead baritone role in All Is Calm. This past season Mr. McNally premiered in his first Twitch Opera as well as Asynchronous productions for online audiences including the world premiere of Eat Your Greens by Peter Hilliard and Matt Boresi. Patirck has been known throughout his career for his command of the bel canto repertoire, his stylish portrayal of Mozart, and his commitment to new works. Mr. McNally continues to delight audiences with a voice described as "robust" and "standout" by the Denver Post, reviewed as having a "Rich, expressive baritone," and with a "lively" stage presence reviewed by Opera News. He will continue this season performing the title role of Gianni Schicchi in productions for Opera Mississippi and the Natchez Festival of music. He will then return to Pittsburgh to join Resonance Works for their Rigoletto. Mr. McNally has performed at houses across the United States as well as internationally. Recent highlights include appearances at Des Moines Metro Opera, Central City Opera, Sarasota Opera, City Lyric Opera, Nashville Opera, the Center for Contemporary Opera, the Boston Lyric Opera, St. Petersburg Opera, the Opera Theatre of Lucca, and Die Eutiner Festspiele. He remains an avid recitalist and performer of oratorio. Patrick is a winner of the Shoshana Career Grant, a John Moriarty Presidential Scholar, and holds a DMA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Robert Mills

Dr. Robert Mills is a Clinical Associate Professor of Music and the vocal coach/accompanist for Arizona State University’s Lyric Opera. Dr. Mills holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Maryland, as well as a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Studies from Arizona State University. Additionally, Dr. Mills holds a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University. For nearly three years, Dr. Mills served as an assistant vocal coach and accompanist for the Opera Institute at Boston University. In 2005, he joined the faculty at the American Institute of Musical Studies Summer Program in Graz, Austria. Dr. Mills has collaborated with vocal artists, technicians and composers, such a Ingo Titze, Phyllis Curtain, Ariel Bybee, Isola Jones, and David Conte in concert, workshop and master class settings Dr. Mills has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, Phoenix Symphony and Mesa Symphony. He is a frequent guest artist with the Grammy Award-winning Phoenix Chorale and the Three Tenors of Mexico and is in high demand as a coach accompanist in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Dr. Mills concertizes throughout the United States as a collaborative pianist and has special affinity for contemporary American art song. Dr. Mills has premiered several vocal works by the American composers David Conte, Judith Cloud and Virko Baley. Dr. Mills can be heard on both the Summit Record and Canyon Records labels.
